To celebrate its ten years of activity, STUDIOTAMAT inaugurates OFFTAMAT, a new space in Rome that embodies its design vision and multidisciplinary approach. More than just a studio, OFFTAMAT presents itself as a contemporary cabinet de curiosités, a laboratory of ideas where the creative process unfolds in a fluid and participatory dimension.
Born from the desire to go beyond traditional boundaries between an architecture studio, exhibition space, and meeting place, OFFTAMAT is conceived as a hybrid territory where designers, artists, and creatives can interact, experiment, and influence one another. Here, a project is not just a final outcome but an ongoing process, a visible narrative open to external influences.
Designed as a 3x3x3-meter volume, OFFTAMAT is a dynamic platform that explores the creative cycle of a product, from concept to realization. With a mirrored ceiling and a uniform floor, the space transforms into a blank canvas, ready to be reinterpreted with each installation. For the first chapter of OFFTAMAT, Daniela Pinotti presents HIGH TIDE, an abstract jacquard fabric created in collaboration with l’Opificio.
“The collaboration with STUDIOTAMAT stems from mutual professional respect and the desire to combine our expertise to develop a product. The result is HIGH TIDE, a custom-designed abstract jacquard fabric that reflects a journey in constant evolution.” explains designer Daniela Pinotti.
HIGH TIDE becomes an integral part of the installation: a dramatic curtain wraps around three sides of the space, transforming OFFTAMAT into a stage ready to unveil new design narratives. At its center, an archive armchair from the studio, reupholstered for the occasion. The pattern evokes a fluid, ever-evolving journey, featuring intricate details and refined lampas weaving, where two weft threads intertwine over the warp to create three-dimensional effects.
“We conceived OFFTAMAT as a curtain that rises to reveal new possibilities. This space is an extension of our research, a place where the product takes center stage, and experimentation materializes in a tangible way,” says Matteo Soddu, co-founder of STUDIOTAMAT.
The new OFFTAMAT space embraces and reflects the studio’s dynamic identity, characterized by meticulous research on materials, construction techniques, and the stories embedded in each project. OFFTAMAT is not just a place; it is a new event format and immersive installation concept that, throughout 2025, will provide a platform for collaborations, limited editions, and previews of projects destined for future collections.OFFTAMAT thus becomes a device that amplifies the dialogue between architecture, design, and visual arts, staging the creative process in its most authentic and spontaneous form.
