CookingRAK and Maximus by RAK Ceramics

CookingRAK is the innovative invisible induction cooking system by RAK Ceramics made with elements from the Maximus line of large porcelain stoneware slabs and awarded one of the most important international awards in the field of design, the Red Dot: Best of the Best in the Product Design category.

CookingRak, moreover, was chosen by the three-starred chef Massimo Bottura for the kitchen of the Al Gatto Verde restaurant at the refined residence Casa Maria Luigia. The chef chose this innovative system because it represents a beautiful and high-performance cooking surface, which he considered ideal for his restaurant inside a magnificent 18th-century residence surrounded by the green countryside outside Modena and recently awarded the 3 Michelin keys for hotellerie. Here the chef welcomes guests amidst works of contemporary art, books, records, iconic motorbikes and cars and, of course, a pantry full of the finest Emilian ingredients.

Generously dimensioned, the Maximus sheets are able to withstand high temperatures and are characterised by a surface hardness that does not fear scratches or stains. Moreover, being made of a non-porous material, they do not run the risk of harbouring mould or bacteria and are therefore suitable for contact with food as well as being very easy to clean. CookingRAK’s integrated induction cooking system transforms the countertop into a functional surface on which to cook, while maintaining the aesthetic continuity of a single, large countertop.
By placing the dedicated cookware on it, the system’s electromagnetic currents ensure that only its contents are heated and not the surrounding countertop. Which can thus be used for all other functions, whether food preparation and support, or hospitality and conviviality. In professional kitchens as in home kitchens.
The applications of Maximus slabs can also be found outside the kitchen, adapting to all environments thanks to their great versatility. In fact, they are available in a wide range of formats and finishes, responding to the most diverse needs of planners and interior designers, from the creation of furniture and worktops, to floor and wall coverings, from kitchens and bathrooms to all other areas of the home, even outdoors.

Among its many strengths, along with its resistance to stress, is its large format, which allows for surfaces with very few continuity solutions, a feature that is particularly evident in the case of large-area coverings such as walls and floors. Available sizes are 144×305 cm for the 14 mm thickness and 120×280 cm for the 6 mm thickness. Among the remarkable features of the Maximus line are the many possible finishes such as Marble and Stone effect. The Marble finishes are inspired by the elegance of this refined yet versatile material, offering hundreds of solutions for residential spaces, hotels, restaurants and workplaces. The veining of the classic marble and granite effects are reproduced and revisited to personalise walls, floors, tops and furnishing elements, giving rooms an undeniable luxury effect.

The Stone effect, on the other hand, evokes the charm of an ancient material, making the collection the protagonist of contemporary architectural works, both in environments with an industrial taste and in others with a more refined style.
