On the occasion of the Salone del Mobile 2024, Caimi has created an unusual and original exhibition space, choosing to “put itself on the square” by creating an exhibition architecture that recalls a stage on which to tell its story, which now boasts seventy-five years of experience and a great vision of the future, at the basis of which are always people with their concrete needs to anticipate and satisfy.
The exhibition space is characterised as a veritable square bordered by four buildings housing eight separate but interconnected spaces like typical ‘workshops’. Each of these spaces is dedicated to a specific furnishing requirement with two guiding threads: on the one hand, Snowsound technologies with their many applications in the acoustic field, and on the other hand, traditional and at the same time modern design collections for living. Animating the space among the various proposals is SHOPPER, the unusual sinuous pouf in sound-absorbing fabric designed by Stefano Barzaghi. It is a particularly versatile solution: thanks to two easy handles, it can be lifted and transported, offering the opportunity for a pleasant rest in any environment and context.
An entire room is dedicated to the collaboration with Alessandro Mendini, in which the highly original STILEMI, three stools, made of recycled plastic, created from the great artist-designer’s original drawings, can be used as seats, tables, or bedside tables. The project stems from the idea that art should not simply be contemplated but should be enjoyed and experienced.
Another novelty presented is BIOSPHERE, a sound-absorbing fabric born from the collaboration between Caimi and a young Taiwanese designer, Hsiang Han Hsu, whom we met at the Satellite 2023 Pavilion. A fabric where acoustic comfort blends with designs that evoke elements of nature, promoting real psychophysical wellbeing, through curtains, furnishing and wall coverings.
At the centre of “Piazza Caimi”, a circular platform displays some emblematic pieces of the various Snowsound technologies, representing the company’s innovation milestones to date in the field of acoustic comfort.
