The Platform Tell the Project series is enriched with its third volume: ‘Canottieri Olona 1894, Milano. A project by Lombardini22‘.
Directly overlooking the Alzaia del Naviglio Grande, the Canottieri Olona 1894 sports centre club stands on an area in the characteristic context of the Milanese canals. Since 2015 the venue has undergone a complete restyling, thanks to a modern relaunch plan. The project, curated by L22 Urban & Building, a brand of the Lombardini22 Group, redeveloped the entire structure for a better functional interior layout. One of the plus points of Canottieri Olona 1894 is the new neuroreactive training area set up inside a Corradi bioclimatic pergola with complete equipment and training solutions for “Neuroreactive Training” in the fields of high performance, sports rehabilitation, fitness and wellness. Canottieri Olona’s is therefore an architecture interpreted as a common good and enhanced as a microcosm of possible functions and experiences. The re-appropriation of space passes through a functional remodelling of the interior and, above all, of the exterior space. Canottieri Olona 1894, in addition to its enhanced social function, has in fact returned to being a place for recreation and relaxation, not just for sport. The centre is now a village, a living, breathing organism, an environment built on a human scale, in which one can forget the hustle and bustle of the city. People’s involvement grows along with the increased connection to the area.
